With the “Fluttering Lights” series, Jens-Christian Wittig succeeds in lulling the beholder’s eye through the harmonious color effect of the works – and at the same time challenging it again and again through the seeming flutter of the countless butterflies.
Framed in a pastel-colored frame, Wittig lets the variety of colors of his three-dimensional flock of butterflies shimmer and shine in the center of the picture. True to the motto: When the external order is established, the inner self can develop freely.
The limited series "Fluttering Lights“ consists of four different colored motifs. The pictures are based on studies of butterflies that JCW took in Turkey and subsequently digitally reproduced, alienated and superimposed in his own way.
The series made its exhibition debut in the USA in the summer of 2021 at the legendary show “Los Angeles Contemporary + Modern” with AiBo Gallery.
