‘Delta Morning’ is an abstract Impressionist lacquer on wood painting created by Vietnamese Bui Huu Hung in 2008. Featuring a delicate tonality made of red, gold and black colors, the painting touches our heart with its deep sense of serenity and subtle hint of nostalgia. A large grouping of tall bamboo trees seems to be creating a protective curtain, discreetly interrupted by a sinuous path leading towards an unknown destination. The darkened sky above gives a sense of subtle melancholy to the ensemble. The two small characters in the front, whose steps are leading them to the woods and who are protected by traditional umbrellas, draw us in as we start to care about their destination. With its large square proportions and muted colors, this 2008 abstract Impressionist Vietnamese landscape lacquer on wood painting will bring a thoughtful touch to any home, whether placed above a sofa, bed, enfilade or console table. Unframed, the painting is signed on the right side.
