‘Chuong Duong Bridge’ is a large horizontal contemporary cityscape oil on canvas painting created by Vietnamese artist Le Quy Tong in 2012. Featuring one of Hanoi’s bridges the Chương Dương located across from the historical Long Biên Bridge, the painting showcases a muted palette mostly made of brown, grey, blue and red tones. The center of the composition is occupied by the overpass, under and over which a few cars are passing. The perfect rendition of the cars’ fast movement adds to the kinetic feel of the painting. This painting belongs to a collection inspired by the Long Biên Bridge, which is not only a part of Hanoi's physical landscape but also a potent symbol of its spirit. Spanning the river through times of war and peace, the bridge, although old and worn now, still carries the legends and stories of the ancient city it serves. With its great proportions and modern subject, this large horizontal cityscape painting will complement any home’s décor beautifully. Unframed, the painting is signed lower right.
