'Hanoi Style’ is a large horizontal Post-Impressionist style oil and acrylic on canvas painting created by Vietnamese artist Duong Viet Nam in 2008. Featuring an exquisite palette mostly made of warm yellows, reds, pops of purple, rust and gold tones, the painting exudes a striking vibrancy. The warm palette used on the buildings and street scene contrast beautifully with the cool blue sky. The fragmented strokes, typical of the Post-Impressionist style, confer a strong sense of liveliness to the ensemble. A grouping of buildings presenting a French influence as well as a delicate gradation of heights, is bathed warm sunlight. With its joyful depiction and nice proportions, this Post-Impressionist street scene will enliven any wall beautifully, perhaps placed above a soda, console table or credenza.
