Jung Kuk Taek South Korea, b. 1971

Highly respected and experienced South Korean sculpture Jung Kook-Taek graduated from College of Arts Education at Inha University (B.F.A) and Department of Sculpture at Sung Shin Graduate School (M.F.A).  His work is mainly based on the theme of common people in modern times. Each piece in its own whimsical way, allows most people to identify their place in society. The work is somewhat contained in the trend of contemporary art, which tries to expand from the perspective of aggregation into the work itself. He tries to express his art differently to show that he is trying to simply reveal reality, leaving all the extremes that idealize or connect a bond between art and society. His work effectively embodies modern art, in that he clearly creates artificial reality through the contrast of cement and iron, which are symbolic materials, and secures the anonymity of modern people with a simplified and uniform mechanical figure.
